Pillow Fight

Here's a short little video of the boys 'fighting'. They play like this for at least an hour every night. It's funny, but it can get annoying. :) Anyway, check it out... Unfortunately, I started out in portrait mode, then about half way through realized I needed to switch to landscape. So the first part you'll have to tilt your head... sorry!

Fish Cakes and Collard Greens

I recently discovered that I LOVE collard greens. So I decided to try my hand at making them at home. They were so EASY! You just have to make sure you wash them well. It took me about 20 minutes to wash each leaf individually. Then I just cut them up, plopped them in a pot, added some seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic and onion flakes) and a little bit of water, set them to Medium and Voila! 30 minutes later, delicious collard greens. YAY!

I also decided to try a new recipe... Fish Cakes! (like Crab Cakes, but with fish) I bought WAY too much Tilipia last time I went to Costco so I needed something to use it up (plain 'ole baked fish gets boring). I'm happy to report they were delicious, too! So delicious in fact, I had to take a picture... :)



The white stuff on the Fish Cake was a sour cream sauce... it was VERY good.

Look what we found in our backyard this afternoon! I'm surprised the boys didn't find him first. We think a bird must have dropped him or something...





He was sooooooo small. I really hope the little guy survives!! We put him behind our fence, in the woods, so at least the boys can't find him...

Baby, it WAS cold outside...

...I say that cause I'm sitting in my kitchen, with the windows open and the fans on, enjoying the 70+ degree weather. However, earlier this week, it was a different story... it was FREEZING out! So cold, in fact, the boys had to wear jackets. OK, maybe HAD is a strong word... more like, I really wanted them to. :)

Dearest Dodger,

It was a year ago today that Mommy, Daddy and Cricket drove down to Savannah, GA to meet you. I remember how excited we were on the drive down!! We had been looking for another dog to join our family for a few months and had a ‘feeling’ that you were going to fit perfectly. And boy were we right!! As soon as I saw you, I fell in love. You are the sweetest, most loving dog. I know you had a rough life… But you haven’t let that stop you from loving us unconditionally. Thank you for bringing so much laughter into our house. You have a personality all your own and I can’t imagine our family without you. I know it took a while for Cricket to like you, but I know he feels the same way about you now that we do. We love you very much and are so grateful you came into our life. Today we celebrate the day we 'got' you...
